"Unity is vitally important in the army of the Lord.  What is unity and how does it
function? Unity is being able to work as a team to accomplish the vision and
purpose set forth by God to the church.  When unity functions correctly in the
church, we see that where one member is weak another member will be strong.
The stronger one will come beside the weaker one and give him strength and help
for his weakness. When we walk in unity, the stronger comes along side and helps
the weaker to achieve the goal.  No one is left behind. All are working together to
complete the race set before them.  The army of God must work in unity to achieve
His goals.

Joel 2: 7-8 They run like mighty men; They climb the wall like soldiers; And they
each march in line, Nor do they deviate from their paths.  8.  They do not crowd
each other; They march everyone in his path.  When they burst through the
defenses, They do not break ranks.

This is a picture of an army warring in perfect unity.  They are not crowding one
another, they stay everyone in their own paths, and they do not break ranks. In not
crowding each other and staying on our own paths, we are each doing the job God
has given us to do as individuals.  Each one of these individual jobs fit and work
together to complete the whole mission.  When we, as God’s army, walk in unity
and do not break ranks, the enemy’s attack cannot get through us.  We stand as
one to repel the attack of the enemy.  This unity is a picture of a solid wall the
enemy cannot get through.  This is what unity accomplishes in the church and in
the army of God."

"There is no room in God’s army for “lone rangers.”  Lone rangers seek after their
own glory.  They are not concerned with accomplishing the vision set forth by God.
They are concerned with exaltation of self.  They are concerned with exalting
themselves above others.  Their goal is to be number one. They will step on
whoever hinders them or gets in their way as they climb to this number one
position.  They have no unity in them. If there is no personal glory for them in the
mission, they refuse to take their parts in accomplishing the work.  Their whole
focus is on what is in it for them.  Their lives are full of pride, which is the worship
of self.  Where there is pride, there is no unity."
