God honors us and raises us up into positions of honor so that we will give Him honor and
glory in the Earth. God raises us to positions of honor and fame so that we may exalt Him
and His name in the Earth.
We will look at several men from the Word of God who were risen up by God into honored
positions. They were raised to these positions to bring glorify and honor to God before all
man.
Joseph:
Genesis 39:1-3 Now Joseph had been taken down to Egypt; and Potiphar, an Egyptian
officer of Pharaoh, the captain of the bodyguard, bought him from the Ishmaelites, who had
taken him down there. 2 The LORD was with Joseph, so he became a successful man.
And he was in the house of his master, the Egyptian. 3 Now his master saw that the LORD
was with him and how the LORD caused all that he did to prosper in his hand. 4 So Joseph
found favor in his sight and became his personal servant; and he made him overseer over his
house, and all that he owned he put in his charge.
Joseph had been sold into slavery by his brothers. God raised Joseph up by His favor to an
honored position. Joseph was given the honored position of being over all the house of
Potiphar.
Potipher’s wife desired to have Joseph come in and lay with her. She tried many times to
entice him to do so. At last she was able to grab his cloak as he fled from her. She accused
Joseph of raping her to her husband. Joseph was sent to prison by Potipher because of the
lie of his wife.
Genesis 39:21-23 But the LORD was with Joseph and extended kindness to him, and gave
him favor in the sight of the chief jailer. 22 The chief jailer committed to Joseph's charge all
the prisoners who were in the jail; so that whatever was done there, he was responsible for it.
23 The chief jailer did not supervise anything under Joseph's charge because the LORD was
with him; and whatever he did, the LORD made to prosper.
Joseph was raised up by the favor of God to the honored position of supervisor of all the
prisoners who were in the jail. God raised Joseph up and honored him.
Joseph continued on living as a prisoner until he was called to interpret Pharaoh’s dream.
Joseph had interpreted the dreams of the king’s baker’s and the king’s cupbearer. The
cupbearer was restored to his position serving the king. The cupbearer forgot about Joseph
until Pharaoh sought for the interpretation to his dream. The cupbearer told Pharaoh of
Joseph’s correct interpretation to his and the baker’s dreams and Pharaoh brought Joseph
out of prison to come and interpret his dream. Joseph did interpret Pharaoh’s dream by God’
s revelation.
Genesis 41:38-43 Then Pharaoh said to his servants, "Can we find a man like this, in whom
is a divine spirit?" 39 So Pharaoh said to Joseph, "Since God has informed you of all this,
there is no one so discerning and wise as you are. 40 "You shall be over my house, and
according to your command all my people shall do homage; only in
the throne I will be greater than you." 41 Pharaoh said to Joseph, "See, I have set you over
all the land of Egypt." 42 Then Pharaoh took off his signet ring from his hand and put it on
Joseph's hand, and clothed him in garments of fine linen and put the gold necklace around his
neck. 43 He had him ride in his second chariot; and they proclaimed before him, "Bow the
knee!" And he set him over all the land of Egypt.
God’s favor raised Joseph to an honored position when he was a slave in Potipher’s house.
God’s favor raised Joseph to an honored position when he was a prisoner in prison. God’s
favor raised Joseph to the honored position of being over all the land of Egypt. God gave
Joseph these positions of honor so that Joseph would bring honor and glory to God before all
man.
God’s favor is upon us. God wants to raise us up to positions of honor by His favor. He
raises us into these positions so that we will glorify and honor Him before all people. We are
not raised up to these positions for us to glory in being honored. We are raised into these
positions of honor so that we will bring honor and glory to Him. So that we will tell of Him and
honor Him before all man.
Deuteronomy 26:19 and that He will set you high above all nations which He has made, for
praise, fame, and honor; and that you shall be a consecrated people to the LORD your God,
as He has spoken."
God raised Joseph high above all the nations. God raised Joseph to this honored position
and gave him praise, fame and honor. Joseph received this position so that he would glorify
God in the earth. Joseph was given this position so that he would honor God before all man.
Genesis 41:56-57 When the famine was spread over all the face of the earth, then Joseph
opened all the storehouses, and sold to the Egyptians; and the famine was severe in the land
of Egypt. 57 The people of all the earth came to Egypt to buy grain from Joseph, because the
famine was severe in all the earth.
Acts 7:9-10 "The patriarchs became jealous of Joseph and sold him into Egypt. Yet God
was with him, 10 and rescued him from all his afflictions, and granted him favor and wisdom
in the sight of Pharaoh, king of Egypt, and he made him governor over Egypt and all his
household.
Joseph was raised out slavery and out of prison to this position of honor as a governor over
Egypt. God will raise us up out of lowly positions and bring us to positions of honor so that
we may bring honor and glory to His name.
1Samuel 2:7-8 "The LORD makes poor and rich; He brings low, He also exalts. 8 "He
raises the poor from the dust, He lifts the needy from the ash heap To make them sit with
nobles, And inherit a seat of honor; For the pillars of the earth are the LORD'S, And He set
the world on them.
It does not matter who we once were or what we once did. It does not matter who your family
is or how you were raised. It does not matter what your finances are. It does not matter who
we are now. God will raise us up to positions of honor by His favor. God gives us honor and
fame so that we may honor Him before all man.
David
1 Chronicles 17: 7-8 "Now, therefore, thus shall you say to My servant David, 'Thus says the
LORD of hosts, "I took you from the pasture, from following the sheep, to be leader over My
people Israel. 8 "I have been with you wherever you have gone, and have cut off all your
enemies from before you; and I will make you a name like the name of the great ones who are
in the earth.
God took David from the lowly position of being a shepherd of sheep and made him leader
over all His people Israel. God made David’s name great as all the great names that were in
the earth.
God knows who you are right now. He knows the position you are in right now. God does
not consider our present condition when He calls us to accomplish a work for Him through our
obedience. God will do with us as he did with King David. God will take us out of our lowly
positions and move us into positions of honor. God will make our names great among the
great names of the earth.
I was at a women’s conference and the power of God fell upon me and I was slain in the Holy
Spirit. I was telling God as I was in His presence that I had nothing to offer Him to get the
message out He had written through me in my book. I was telling him that I had to fame or no
name to advance this book forward.
God spoke to me, “I knew who you were and the position you were in when I called you to
write this book.”
God knew who David was and his position when He called him to become a leader over His
people. God knows who you are and your position as He calls you to fulfill your destiny and
call He has for you.
God raises us up to positions of honor so that we glorify, magnify, and exalt Him in the earth.
God makes our names great so that we make His name great in all the earth!!
1Chronicles 17:18-19 "What more can David still say to You concerning the honor
bestowed on Your servant? For You know Your servant. 19 "O LORD, for Your servant's
sake, and according to Your own heart, You have wrought all this greatness, to make known
all these great things.
1Chronicles 17:24 "Let Your name be established and magnified forever, saying, 'The
LORD of hosts is the God of Israel, even a God to Israel; and the house of David Your
servant is established before You.'
David was risen up to a position of honor so that God could through him make God’s great
name known and it be established and magnified forever.
God raises us to positions of honor so that we bring honor and glory to His name, so that we
tell of all His wonders and He is exalted in the earth. All fame, all honor is given to us so that
we exalt and honor Him in the earth.
1Chronicles 29:12 "Both riches and honor come from You, and You rule over all, and in
Your hand is power and might; and it lies in Your hand to make great and to strengthen
everyone.
2 Samuel 5:10 David became greater and greater, for the LORD God of hosts was with him.
1Chronicles 11:9 David became greater and greater, for the LORD of hosts was with him.
It is by God’s hand that we are risen up and given positions of honor and our names made
great in the earth. God honors us and makes our names great so that we honor and glorify
Him in all the earth.
1Ch 29:28 Then he died in a ripe old age, full of days, riches and honor; and his son
Solomon reigned in his place.
2Ch 6:15 who has kept with Your servant David, my father, that which You have promised
him; indeed You have spoken with Your mouth and have fulfilled it with Your hand, as it is this
day.
God had done exactly what He had spoken He would do in David’s life. David days were full
of riches and honor. David’s name was named among all the great names of the earth. God
had made David’s name great by His hand. David’s name continues to be honored as a great
name in the earth even to this day.
Solomon, Jehoshaphat, and Hezekiah
2Chronicles 1:1 Now Solomon the son of David established himself securely over his
kingdom, and the LORD his God was with him and exalted him greatly.
1Kings 3:13 "I have also given you what you have not asked, both riches and honor, so that
there will not be any among the kings like you all your days.
God greatly exalted Solomon so that Solomon would bring glory and honor to God.
2Ch 17:5 So the LORD established the kingdom in his control, and all Judah brought tribute
to Jehoshaphat, and he had great riches and honor.
2Ch 32:27 Now Hezekiah had immense riches and honor; and he made for himself
treasuries for silver, gold, precious stones, spices, shields and all kinds of valuable articles,
God brought honor to Jehoshaphat and Hezekiah so that He would be honored and glorified
in all the earth.
God raises us up to positions of honor so that we bring honor and glory to His name. He
makes our names great so that we magnify and exalt Him before all men. It is not about us or
for us that God does so. It is all about Him and for the advancing of His kingdom. We are
vessels that He uses to proclaim Himself and make Himself known I the earth.
Paul
2Timothy 4:17 But the Lord stood with me and strengthened me, so that through me the
proclamation might be fully accomplished, and that all the Gentiles might hear; and I was
rescued out of the lion's mouth.
Paul was raised to a position of honor by God so that through him the proclamation might be
fully accomplished.
God desires to raise each of us into positions of honor so that through us the proclamation
might be fully accomplished. God desires to use each of us as His vessels to do so.
Isaiah 55:4-5 "Behold, I have made him a witness to the peoples, A leader and commander
for the peoples. 5 "Behold, you will call a nation you do not know, And a nation which knows
you not will run to you, Because of the LORD your God, even the Holy One of Israel; For He
has glorified you."
God glorifies us so that we are a witness of Him to the peoples and to the nations. The
nations will run to us because God has glorified us. We are glorified by God so that we tell of
Him to the earth, so that we are His witnesses in the earth.
Jesus
Jesus came into the earth to glorify and honor God His father. Jesus came into the earth so
that all men might come to the Father and know Him. Jesus sought to honor and glorify God
in all that He did while He was on the earth. Jesus still seeks to honor and glorify God as He
still moves in the earth today.
John 14:13 "Whatever you ask in My name, that will I do, so that the Father may be glorified
in the Son.
Jesus is still bringing honor and glory to the Father in the earth.
John 17:1 Jesus spoke these things; and lifting up His eyes to heaven, He said, "Father, the
hour has come; glorify Your Son, that the Son may glorify You,
God glorified Jesus so that Jesus would glorify the Father. God glorifies and gives us honor
so that we bring glory and honor to Him.
John 17:4 "I glorified You on the earth, having accomplished the work which You have given
Me to do.
John 17:6 "I have manifested Your name to the men whom You gave Me out of the world;
they were Yours and You gave them to Me, and they have kept Your word.
Jesus came into the earth to glorify God and to manifest God’s name. Jesus accomplished
this work that God had given Him to do.
Are we accomplishing the work of glorifying, honoring and magnifying His name in the earth?
Are we accomplishing the work of making His name manifest in the earth? God wants to
bring honor to us as His vessels of use so that we manifest His name before all men.
Jesus accomplished His work of glorifying the Father. We have now been given the task of
glorifying Jesus in the earth. We have now been given the task of manifesting His name in
the earth.
John 17:9-10 "I ask on their behalf; I do not ask on behalf of the world, but of those whom
You have given Me; for they are Yours; 10 and all things that are Mine are Yours, and Yours
are Mine; and I have been glorified in them.
We are now the vessels in the earth that are used to glorify Jesus. He will be glorified in us.
God’s desire is to set each of us in positions of honor so that we manifest His glory and His
name into the earth.
Psalms 91:14-16 "Because he has loved Me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set him
securely on high, because he has known My name. 15 "He will call upon Me, and I will
answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will rescue him and honor him. 16 "With a long life I
will satisfy him And let him see My salvation."
Because we have loved the Lord He will set us securely on high. Because we have loved
Him he will seat us securely in positions of honor.
Pro 21:21 He who pursues righteousness and loyalty Finds life, righteousness and honor.
Because we have chosen to pursue God and His righteousness we will be given by the hand
of God life, righteousness and honor. God honors us so that we give Him the honor due Him
in all the earth.
Pro 22:4 The reward of humility and the fear of the LORD Are riches, honor and life.
John 12:26 "If anyone serves Me, he must follow Me; and where I am, there My servant will
be also; if anyone serves Me, the Father will honor him.
Rom 2:10 but glory and honor and peace to everyone who does good, …
God rewards humility and the fear of the Lord with riches, honor and life. God rewards those
who serve Him and do good with glory and honor. God honors and glorifies us so that we
make Him known and manifest His name in all the earth.
