God is Doing a New Thing Author Dawn Wilson www.dawnwilsonministries.org God is Bringing in a New Season. God is Bringing in New Wine. God is Bringing in a New and Fresh Move of His Spirit. My husband and I were having a discussion. We said, “As soon as you have God all sewed up and locked in a box He breaks out of where you had Him locked in to.” Once we think we know everything there is to know about God and His Word -- God comes and breaks out of where we had Him contained. Once those words were out of our mouths God instantly spoke a word by revelation -“God breaks out of our old wine skins—our doctrine and our knowledge of Him where we have Him contained and boxed in. God pours out fresh wine/ fresh revelation which then bursts open our old wine skins. God wants to give us new wine skins to hold the new wine of the new revelation given by Him. God is now pouring out His new wine/ His new and fresh revelation. He is now pouring out a new move. We must let our old wine skins be burst open -let go of the old - receive our new wine skins that will hold the new wine and the new revelation of God. Matt. 9:16-17 But no one puts a patch of unshrunk cloth on an old garment; for the patch pulls away from the garment, and a worse tear results. 17 Nor do men put new wine into old wineskins; otherwise the wineskins burst, and the wine pours out, and the wineskins are ruined; but they put new wine into fresh wineskins, and both are preserved. God pours new wine/ new fresh revelation into our old wine skins and bursts them open. The old wine skins can not hold or contain the new wine. We must receive from Him new wine skins that will contain the new and fresh wine of His revelation. God is God of the now, He is God of the present, He is God of the future. He doesn’t dwell in the past. God does not dwell in past moves and neither should we. God desires to pour out His fresh new move among us. He is looking for vessels who have prepared themselves to contain His new wine/ His fresh revelation. He is looking for vessels to accomplish His new move through. Are we willing to be those vessels?? Will we allow our old wine skins to be burst open and have new wine poured into new wine skins? When we hold on to our old wine skins and do not allow the new wine of revelation burst them open we are still holding on to the past move/ we are still holding on to the past revelation of God. Because of this we become unable to move into the now move of God. We become unable to move with the Spirit of God. We become unable to move where the Spirit is moving and what He is doing NOW. We have to let go of the past/ let our old wine skins be burst open to be able to move in the new move of God. We have to let go what we have known to receive the new fresh wine into new wine skins. We must have new wine skins full of new wine to be able to move in the new move of God. John 5:1-3 After these things there was a feast of the Jews, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem. 2 Now there is in Jerusalem by the sheep gate a pool, which is called in Hebrew Bethesda, having five porticoes. 3 In these lay a multitude of those who were sick, blind, lame, and withered, [waiting for the moving of the waters; These multitudes of sick and infirm were waiting for a move of God. The old move of the angel coming and stirring the water was ending. The new move of God had now come into their midst---Jesus. John 5:6 When Jesus saw him lying there, and knew that he had already been a long time in that condition, He said to him, "Do you wish to get well?" There was a new move of God in their midst. This man with the infirmity for 38 years had to let go of the old move and grab onto the new move to receive his healing. The old move was passing away; Jesus was now present in the earth to heal. The man had to step out of the old move of the angel stirring the waters and step into the new move of God—healing through faith in Jesus. There will always be those who oppose the new move of God. They will try and hold you back by tradition. John 5: 10 So the Jews were saying to the man who was cured, "It is the Sabbath, and it is not permissible for you to carry your pallet." It is not permissible for you to carry your pallet on the Sabbath was a tradition of man. The Pharisees sought to hold this man back by calling him back to the old traditions. Jesus had come to bring a fresh new move in the earth. Mark 7:7-9 But in Vain do they worship Me, teaching as doctrines the precepts of men. 8 Neglecting the commandment of God you hold to the tradition of men. 9 He was also saying to them, “You nicely set aside the commandment of God in order to keep your tradition. Mark 7: 13 thus invalidating the word of God by your tradition which you have handed down; and you do many things such as that. Tradition is old wine in old wine skins. When we begin operating and moving in the new fresh wine poured into our new wine skins there will be those who rise up to oppose us and call us back into tradition. I hear the Spirit say - many, many, many will not be able to move in the new move of God. Because of this they will oppose the new move of God. Many will hold on to their old wine skins -their traditions - and oppose the new wine of the new move. This has been repeated over and over and over again in Christian History. John 5:11 But he answered them, "He who made me well was the one who said to me, 'Pick up your pallet and walk.'" Jesus had instituted a new move by instructing the man to pick up his pallet and walk. Not only did the Pharisees oppose the new move of God but they persecuted the one who had instituted it. John 5:16 For this reason the Jews were persecuting Jesus, because He was doing these things on the Sabbath. Those who will not allow their old wine skins to be burst by new wine will often persecute those who do receive and embrace the new move of God. Are we willing to endure the persecution that will come with the new move and the outpouring of new wine? God wants us to let go of the old and move into the new. God wants to fill us with new wine of fresh revelation from Him. Lev. 26:10 And you will eat of the old supply and clear out the old because of the new. It is time to clear out the old for the new to come in. We must let go of the old for the new to have room to come in. There is leftover supply to clear out. God always gives more than enough. God is not interested in the leftover supply. He says clear it out and make room for the new. Isaiah 42:9 “Behold, the former things have come to pass, Now I declare new things; Before they spring forth I proclaim them to you.” Isaiah 43:18-19 Do not call to mind the former things, or ponder things of the past. 19 Behold, I will do something new, now it will spring forth; Will you not be aware of it? I hear the Spirit challenging us to let go of the past move of God. I hear His call to move where the Spirit is moving NOW. The Holy Spirit will no longer pour into the old move. The old move is passed. The Holy Spirit will only flow into the new move of God. The Holy Spirit no longer fits in the past; that is why our old wine skins burst—they can not contain the new move/ the new revelation/ the new wine from God. The Holy Spirit only fits into the new wine skins of the new move, into the NOW move of God. Let us not be living on the leftovers or the past move of God, let us clear them out so that the new move of God can pour in. We as a people are waiting and longing for the Holy Spirit to fall. We cry out for Him to come. Yet, when He comes with the new and fresh move of God we hinder Him by our refusal to be burst out of our old wine skins. We are hanging on to the leftovers that God has told us to clear out. Let us sweep out the leftovers so that the new move of God may flow in. Let us receive the new wine skins and His new wine. To move into the new fresh move of God often we have to let go of doctrines. We have to allow our old wine skins of doctrine be burst opened in order to receive the new wine of revelation. God is calling us to let go of our “doctrine” and receive the new wine/ the fresh revelation of the Holy Spirit and move with Him in the new move of God. We can no longer limit or hinder Him by our doctrines any longer. I am not saying we are to have no doctrine. The scripture declares over and over again that we are to have sound doctrine. We are not to hold our doctrines so tight we can’t receive new and refresh revelation from the Holy Spirit. We can’t hold doctrine above the voice and move of the Holy Spirit. If it is a true move of the Spirit He will never violate the Word of God. God is God of the present and God of the future. God is not God of the past. We see this principle at the changing of the covenants. God put aside/ did away with the old covenant for the new covenant. The old passed away when the new came. Heb 8:13 When He said, "A new covenant," He has made the first obsolete. But whatever is becoming obsolete and growing old is ready to disappear. We see this principle at our salvation. At salvation we were made a new creation. The old has past away and was done away with and we became new creatures in Christ Jesus. At our salvation God began a new thing in each of us. 2Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come. Will you move with the new move of God or will you oppose it as the Pharisees opposed Jesus?? Will you allow the new wine to come in?? Will you allow God to break open your old wind skin and give you His new wine skin to hold the new wine?? Are we willing to endure the persecution that will come with the new wine of the new move in this season of God?? Every new move of God has been opposed. Are you ready to endure persecution for His sake?? Are you will to endure persecution to be in the middle of His will?? God is looking for those who are!! |
