Does Judgement Bring Man to Repentance

It has been said that judgment comes to the earth to bring man to repentance. I believe
this is a misunderstanding of the Old Testament. I believe as you read the Old Testament
it shows that judgment came to the earth BECAUSE MAN DID NOT REPENT!! God
called the nations of Israel and Judah continually to repentance and when they did not
repent of their sin judgment came.
We also find this example with Jonah and the city of Nineveh. Jonah came to Nineveh
with the message to repent for judgment was at hand. If Nineveh had not repented
judgment would have surely fallen because of their sin. Israel and Judah when called to
repentance by the prophets of God did not repent and judgment came because they did
not repent. Judgment did not come to bring them to repentance; judgment came because
they did not repent.
Can God use judgment to bring sinful man to Himself? Yes, He often does reach a
remnant through their repentance that came through judgement. But that is just the
point—it is a remnant reached and not the multitude. The multitude has a sorrow that is a
man’s sorrow which does not lead to repentance but produces death. A remnant will
come to God in godly sorrow which leads to repentance and salvation. We should not
think that multitudes will repent because of a judgment of catastrophes.
2Corinthians 7:10 For the sorrow that is according to the will of God produces a
repentance without regret, leading to salvation, but the sorrow of the world produces
death.
It is said that God wipes out sin through judgments of catastrophe. Sin has NOT been
wiped out through these judgments. SIN IS IN THE HEART OF MAN. Sin has not been
wiped out by judgments of destruction on cities. Sin has been carried abroad through the
hearts of man. Sin has been spread out and dispersed throughout nations as the refuges
from the castrophe are dispersed. The cities are destroyed but the sin is carried forth
through the hearts of man.
Catastrophes and destructions will not bring the world to repentance. THE HEART OF
MAN MUST BE CHANGED!!! THE ONLY THING THAT WILL BRING THE CHANGE TO
THE HEART OF MAN IS REVIVAL. THE WORLD NEEDS GOD’S TRUE REVIVAL
WHICH WILL BRING IT TO A GODLY REPENTANCE AND NOT WORLDLY SORROW.
THIS IS THE ANSWER FOR AMERICA AND FOR THE WORLD.
As a Pastor I plan on preaching loud and clear that man must be called to repentance.
Yes, first repentance begins here in His house the church. We must repent for our sin,
our iniquity and our unrighteousness. After we have repented we must then go forth
preaching a gospel that calls all men to repentance.
In the midst of castrophe we put the cart before the horse by telling the world to pray
without instructing them to first repent and know the God to whom they pray. We
lead the world to believe they can partake of the blessings of the children of God without
becoming His child. We have made and error in doing so. We must instruct them in the
true gospel of God. They must repent and receive Jesus as Savior and Lord to partake of
the blessings of the children of God.
We have lowered God to the level of the gods of the earth. Animists always work to
appease an angry God. Their daily lives consists of this. We are telling the people of the
world to “offer a sacrifice of prayer” to appease an angry God. We profane God to the
nations. God’s anger is only appeased through the cross and through the blood of
Jesus. Their prayers will not appease God. Their prayers will not appease His judgment
of their sin. He is not an unclean idol or god of this earth. He has set His way to come
and partake of Him and His blessings. There is one way and He is Jesus.
We must be at work now as His body shouting forth a call to repentance. There is a
remnant who will hear, heed and repentant. We must be crying aloud to our God asking
Him for His revival to fill the earth. Only His revival will change the hearts of man. We
need God’s revival!!!
I believe one reason we have endure the catastrophe of hurricanes in America is because
we His church, His body, His warriors, His watchmen, His intercessors, and His prophets
have not cried out and sought Him for revival---man has not repented because we have
not sincerely sought God for revival for our nation.
We do not need man’s revival. The world has seen it and they hold no respect for it. We
need God’s revival to fall and bring sinful man to repentance.
Let us as ministers of the gospel go forth preaching the true gospel of Jesus Christ. I
believe the earth hungers and thirsts to hear it once again. They seek for a way to be
changed and transformed, they seek for a way to be made new. The watered down
gospel that is preached in our nation is leaving them is the same state that they came in.
Let us go forth preaching the pure, the true gospel of the kingdom. Let us take our places
that the revival of God may truly come to our nation and it be healed.
Revival is the only thing that will heal our land.
