Protecting the Thoughts of Your Mind

I have heard two different people who are ministers say "they can read the minds of those
around them.” They also said “they can know every unclean thought and deed of any
man.” They said they could do this through the ministry gift of a prophet.
Each time I heard these words from either of them the Holy Spirit inside me would cringe.
In one instance when one of these ministers was saying these words I literally felt
overwhelming sick. I wanted to vomit. I knew by the Holy Spirit that what was being said
was unclean and not the manifestation of the ministry gift of a prophet.
I believe that those who move in the prophetic gift can only see what God allows them or
gives them to see by His revelation. I believe this revelation comes through the Holy
Spirit. I do not believe that God uncovers all our sins, transgressions and thoughts to
others. God only reveals enough to the prophet to allow them to speak a word to bring us
to repentance.
God is not a God who uncovers or exposes us.
Scriptural question entered into my mind because of my understanding of God and how He
operates.
1) If they were not seeing the thoughts of others by the revelation of the Holy Spirit they
must be seeing them by a revelation of an unclean spirit.
I believe these ministers were operating in the unclean spirit of a familiar spirit or through
the unclean spirit of the spirit of divination.
2) This opened up the next question--- If satan can not read our thoughts, how could the
unclean spirits of a familiar spirit or spirit of divination know our thoughts??
My doctrine said the satan could not read our thoughts. Yet I knew by the Holy Spirit
these ministers were not reading peoples thoughts by a revelation from Him.
This caused me to seek God and seek His answers to my questions.
God first reminded me that there is a revelation of the Holy Spirit that knows the thoughts
of others. In the Word of God we are told Jesus knew what others were thinking and
Jesus knew the intent of their hearts.
Matt. 22:15-18 Then the Pharisees went and counseled together how they might trap Him
in what He said. 16 And they sent their disciples to Him, along with the Herodians, saying,
"Teacher, we know that You are truthful and teach the way of God in truth, and defer to no
one; for You are not partial to any. 17 "Tell us therefore, what do You think? Is it lawful to
give a poll-tax to Caesar, or not?" 18 But Jesus perceived their malice, and said, "Why are
you testing Me, you hypocrites?
By the revelation of the Holy Spirit Jesus knew the malice or the intent behind their words.
This does not say that the Holy Spirit revealed to Jesus knew every thought of their minds,
this says the Holy Spirit revealed to Him their malice behind their words.
Have you ever been talking with someone and you hear from the Holy Spirit “Danger, stay
away!!!” or “They are appealing to pride, be careful.” I have. I believe this was the Holy
Spirit revealing to me the malice hidden behind their words. He did not tell me the exact
thoughts of their mind. No, He was revealed their malice and their intent to me.
Mark 2:8 And immediately Jesus, aware in His spirit that they were reasoning that way
within themselves, said to them, "Why are you reasoning about these things in your hearts?
Jesus was aware in His spirit by the revelation of the Holy Spirit what they were reasoning
within themselves.
God knows our thoughts. God knows the thoughts of our hearts. He is able to reveal
them to us by the revelation of the Holy Spirit.
Again I believe God does not uncover us or expose us, He does not leave us naked as He
brings this revelation to His ministers. I have never known Him to operate in such a way.
When God speaks and brings revelation through His Holy Spirit the fruit should be good.
The manifestation should be full of life and bring about good and not harm.
The time I watched one of these ministers and their ministry team operate through what
they called their prophetic gift I saw havoc reaped in people’s lives and in the house of
God. There was no life in their ministry!! There was death and destruction, there was
chaos!! They did not speak by the revelation of the Holy Spirit!!!
People were not loosed and set free as they minister by the revelation of an unclean
spirit. Yes, they knew the thoughts and the sins of those in the meeting but they were
unable to set them free. They were not ministering by the revelation of the Holy Spirit.
Their fruit was not good!!!
Luke 6:6-8 And it came about on another Sabbath, that He entered the synagogue and
was teaching; and there was a man there whose right hand was withered. 7 And the
scribes and the Pharisees were watching Him closely, to see if He healed on the Sabbath,
in order that they might find reason to accuse Him. 8 But He knew what they were
thinking, and He said to the man with the withered hand, "Rise and come forward!" And he
rose and came forward.
Jesus knew by the revelation of the Holy Spirit that they were thinking how to find a reason
to accuse Him. This does not say that Jesus knew their exact thoughts—word for word.
Jesus knew the content of their thoughts!!
Luke 11:16-17 And others, to test Him, were demanding of Him a sign from heaven. 17
But He knew their thoughts, and said to them, "Any kingdom divided against itself is laid
waste; and a house divided against itself falls.
Jesus knew by the revelation of the Holy Spirit that these were thinking of a way to test
Him. Again, I believe the Holy Spirit revealed to Jesus the content of their thoughts and
not a word for word revelation of their thoughts.
After God showed me that there was a clean manifestation of knowing the thoughts of
others by the revelation of the Holy Spirit I asked Him, “Why did the Holy Spirit inside me
cringe and want to vomit each time I heard these words of knowing the thoughts and every
secret deeds of others from these two ministers?”, “Were they seeing by the Holy Spirit
the thoughts of others?” “Is satan able to know our thoughts?”
God’s answer to me blew me away!!!
God reminded me of the battlefield of the mind. God reminded me of the warfare that
takes place in our minds.
God asked me, “How does the warfare in your mind take place?”
I replied, “By thoughts from the enemy being sent in.” I said, “I have to take these
thoughts captive.”
God then asked me, “Why do you need to take them captive if the enemy can not read
your mind?”
God then took me to the warfare in the mind and showed me a thought sent in from the
enemy. He showed me resisting the thought and taking it captive and in doing so it did not
prosper.
Then God showed me a thought coming into my mind sent of the enemy and I for just one
moment agreed with that thought. I saw the unclean spirits released by the enemy at the
moment of my agreement with that thought.
God asked me, “How can the enemy know of your agreement with his thought unless he
can read the thoughts of your mind?”
Instantly I knew my doctrine had been wrong. I knew I had held this doctrine and spoken it
many times but in truth I had experienced exactly what God had just showed me. I knew
that when I agreed with any thought of the enemy that it released a battle I had to
overcome. I lacked the understanding that the enemy could read and know my thoughts.
I knew by this revelation of God that the enemy had to read the thoughts of my mind to
know of my agreement with his thought.
God then took me to see someone being tempted with suicide. God showed me their
temptation and the warfare taking place. He showed me as long as they did not agree
with the thought of the enemy they were overcoming. He showed me that if but for one
moment they agreed with the thoughts of the enemy demons were unleashed to come and
harass and torment them.
He showed me this depression and agreement on our parts with the thoughts of
depression. He showed me the devil knowing the thought of agreement. He showed me
the demons unleashed to torment further by this agreement.
He showed me this with temptation to sin. He showed me once we for one moment agree
with or think on the pleasure of that sin the enemy knows it and he releases a demonic
horde to overcome us with the temptation. He showed the increase in battle and warfare
once we but for a moment agree with the thought of the enemy.
He showed me this with anger. He showed me someone being bombarded with thoughts
of anger and great rage. I saw when they agreed with these thoughts satan knew it and
released a horde of demons to manifest that anger into acts of rage and abuse.
God then spoke to me clearly, “Guard your thoughts!!!”
He continued on to say, “You thought you could play with any thought in your mind
because your doctrine said satan can not read your mind. You thought you could think
anything you wanted to think because satan could not read the thoughts of your mind.
God said to me, “Satan has used your agreement with his thoughts to wreak havoc in your
life and in the lives of many.”
He continued on to say, “Why do you think I gave instructions in my Word for what you
were to think on? I gave you these instructions so there would be no place for the enemy
found in your thoughts to bring destruction in your life.”
Then He spoke to me again, “Guard your thoughts!!!”
Philippians 4:8 Finally, my brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are
honest, whatever things are right, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely,
whatever things are of good report; if there is any virtue and if there is any praise, think
on these things.
God has commanded us in His word what we are to think on. God knows that satan can
and does know our thoughts. God has commanded us what we are to think on so that
satan can not bring his destruction into our lives by our thoughts.
Proverbs 12:5 The thoughts of the righteous are just, But the counsels of the wicked
are deceitful.
Isaiah 55:7 Let the wicked forsake his way And the unrighteous man his
thoughts; And let him return to the LORD, And He will have compassion on him, And
to our God, For He will abundantly pardon.
We are commanded to think just thoughts. The unrighteous are commanded to forsake
their thoughts.
2 Corinthians 10: 5 …and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ,
We must guard our thoughts by taking every thought captive. We can not for one
Moment to play with them or to agree with them in any way. When we agree with the
thoughts sent by satan he is then able to send his demonic horde against us.
Isaiah 65:2 "I have spread out My hands all day long to a rebellious people, Who walk
in the way which is not good, following their own thoughts,
These God said walked in a way that was not good. Their way was walking in their own
thoughts. Again I want you to understand that satan knows the thoughts within man
and releases his demonic horde to bring us into actions that follow our thoughts. This is
why God has commanded us on what to think on and to take every thought captive.
The Word of God says that man can have within him these evil thoughts.
Matt 15:19 "For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murders, adulteries,
fornications, thefts, false witness, slanders.
Mark 7:21 "For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed the evil thoughts,
fornications, thefts, murders, adulteries, 22 deeds of coveting and wickedness, as well
as deceit, sensuality, envy, slander, pride and foolishness.
God has commanded us on what we are to think on. God has commanded us to take
every thought captive.
Guard your thoughts!!!
These next scriptures are the perfect example of all that God showed me by His revelation.
James 1:14-15 But each one is tempted when he is carried away and enticed by his own
lust. 15 Then when lust has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and when sin is accomplished,
it brings forth death.
This began with a thought. The enemy heard this thought and sent his demonic horde to
tempt even greater to act upon and commit the sin. The thought of lust is conceived and
comes to birth as the demonic horde compels them on to act in sin. The act of sin is
committed and it brings forth death, havoc and destruction.
Psalms 64:6 They devise injustices, saying, "We are ready with a well-conceived plot";
For the inward thought and the heart of a man are deep.
Ezekiel 38:10 'Thus says the Lord GOD, "It will come about on that day, that
thoughts will come into your mind and you will devise an evil plan,
We see the enemy devise an evil plan of action – a well conceived plot - through the
inward thoughts of a man. The enemy sent his demonic horde to conceive this plot as he
knew the thoughts within the man.
Isaiah 59:7 Their feet run to evil, And they hasten to shed innocent blood; Their
thoughts are thoughts of iniquity, Devastation and destruction are in their
highways.
Devastation and destruction are reaped in our lives if we do not guard our thoughts.
Just as God showed me by His revelation – when we think on sin satan releases his
demons to overcome us with the temptation. Thoughts of iniquity will only bring
devastation and destruction into our lives.
Guard your minds!!!
Proverbs 23:7 For as he thinks within himself, so he is.
Why do we become what we think we are within ourselves?? We become how we think
we are because satan knows our thoughts and pours forth his demonic horde against us
to make us exactly like we think.
We must guard our thoughts!!!
